We originally blogged about this back in August when it was tentatively called the Ani Light, but now Takara Tomy has christened their new projection aquarium/ipod speaker/mood light Beyond the Great Ocean. This light projects a moving ocean onto your wall or ceiling, complete with swimming fish and, as it seems, polar bears trying to catch said fish.
You can also connect your audio player to the device to use as a speaker and the creatures will swim along with the tempo. If you aren’t in the mood for projection, just pop the top on and watch the animations projected on the opaque cover. It seems pretty interesting so far, and if I had to put my money on a hybrid of the Mangekyo Rooms and the Private Ocean, this is certainly it in every way.
