***Editor’s note: We use the term “robotic” loosely, and in retrospect it would have been better to use the term “electric”. What seems to be the case is that sound/vibration trigger the “butterfly” to flutter about, facilitated by the batteries in the lid and wire attached to the body. Of course it’s NOT a real butterfly, but designed to look like one. Perhaps a type of wire that physically reacts to small electrical charges? No idea….but it’s awesome. We’ve changed everything to “electric” now to avoid confusion.
Another of the highlights of the Tokyo Toy Show was this mesmerizing ChouChou Electric Butterfly.

Ever dreamed of keeping a butterfly in a jar forever? Now you can! As you can see, just tapping the lid makes the “butterfly” fly around in a surprisingly lifelike way.
The ChouChou is set for release this September and is on preorder from JapanTrendShop.com.

What happens when you open the lid?
HOW COOL!!!! I want one!
butterfly was real or artificial? butterfly was real or artificial? if it is artificial does not matter, but if it is a pity native butterfly, it’s better just released :):)
