Gadget Trends Japan: Integrated, Portable, Home Projector from Toshiba

Toshiba has just introduced a very simple, consumer-friendly DLP home projector that integrates a DVD player as well as 5.1 channel Dolby Pro-Logic surround sound. Until recently, even a halfway-decent home projector was prohibitively expensive, heavy (with awkward design), had terrible sound, and not user friendly. The TDP-ET20U has very sleek design, tons of well-labeled inputs on the back, and illuminated buttons for easy control in the dark.

We’re not talking HD here, or even something that really pushes the technology far ahead. The beauty of it is its simplicity, portability, and great design. There isn’t anywhere you can’t take this and enjoy a nice 100 inch picture (from 3.9 feet away!), great sound, and easy hookups and controls. For those seeking a fixed, HD projector for their home, this isn’t for you. As for the rest of us who love portability (to show it off of course), it doesn’t get better.

Just now introduced at CEATEC Japan, it will be available this month for purchase.
