Humidifiers are a big deal in Japan, as the air gets insanely dry in the winter time despite the ultra-muggy summers that reduce Australians and Californians to puddles of sweat. Just before winter there are always new and innovative humidifiers, or improved versions of previous models. Here’s what going on this year…
The +-0 Humidifier designed by Naoto Fukasawa is now in its third or fourth year, but this year (Version 3) brings technical improvements as well as a host of new colors for your living room. It also does aroma!
Takumi’s Mini Chimney humidifiers are also back in new colors. The standard chimney humidifiers are still around, but are also extremely tall. Good for small offices and cramped apartments like mine as they have small footprints but decent size tanks. The tanks on the small versions are, well, small, but the one on my desk is going strong.
We discussed it before, but the Misty Garden does aroma like most of the stylish new humidifiers do…silently. Using filters that look like flowers, it dispenses moisture and your choice of aroma into the air.
Add in the Baby Climo air purifier for kids, and it’s a busy year for indoor atmosphere. Today I saw a tiny travel humidifier that uses PET bottles for the water, and will get more info soon.
