The traditional Japanese way to stay cool in the summer months is to lay on a flexible pad of bamboo tiles, but we’ve never quite gotten used to the hard feeling. Enter Kuchofuku, now releasing it’s 2007 series of air-conditioned lifestyle products including a bed! This is on top of its already popular USB shirt, pants, and jacket offerings. By taking in air at the head end of the mattress, the dual fans at the foot pull it through a soft membrane that expands to become an air-cushion, bringing cool air in past your head and through the bed.

Using a standard AC adapter, the 2.4kg (5.3lb) Kuchofuku Air-conditioned Bed is extremely ecological, and the maker claims that with everyday use for eight hours the bed will use less than ¥30 ($.24) for the entire month! It also rolls up into the included bag for compact storage.

In the air-conditioned clothing arena, Kuchofuku has a wide range of products including jackets, pants, white shirts (for both men and women), and workshirts with dual fans that create constant air flow. Combined with the bed, it’s now possible to spend nearly every second of your day being fanned with cool air for those hot and humid Japanese summers.

Only japanese could invent useless things like these. If there is anything stunning about it, then it is too see how a civilization has lost its roots to basics, roots and pure necessities of life.
Nice, racist and ignorant hypocrite. How much of a necessity is the internet and computer you are using?
But… Al Gore invented the Internet! Seriously though, have you ever been to Japan in the summer months? The heat and humidity are intense! I would have loved to have had these “useless” inventions when I was stationed there.
Have you by chance been watching that inventor show on TV? A guy invented a device called Ins-Tan-Abs, which is essentially a stencil you place over your belly while sunbathing. The result is the illusion of a “six-pack” of abdominal muscles. Talk about your useless inventions! Oh, and the guy was not Japanese.
the japanese may come out with a few weird things, but a shitload of cool comes from them too. where as ^Metzger just contributes his asinine racism.
how was that posted on 1st July?? It’s only the 30th June :S
good ol’ gore baby!!! who is sad enough to comment on this?? Shtephhen!!
Its amazing how only the dumbest people on the internet comment on things like this. then they argue over whos dumber knowing that they never have to deal with anyone they’ve offended cause realy who ever checks these things twice just to see what someone said about their comment
P.S. I know i had some spelling errors so just deal with it
Ohhh shes a fiesty one. Give me a growl julie!
Julie… you know ya turn me on wit ya big babylon!!
its july first cause this is a japanese website. they are a day ahead.
Well they wana set their clocks properly then don’t they?? I mean come on!!
What are you guys all talking about? Don’t you have anything better to do than this? None of you make any sense anyway.
Thats a great invention now if only they had ac underwear. :)
wow……..I’ve always dreamed of A.C. clothes!! T.T
Finally! I’ve been waiting for someone to invent air conditioned clothing for over a decade now. Now we just need someone to import them to America.
it’s kinda like in Back to the Future and marty mcfly gets wet and the suit automatically dries it self. sweet
A/C underwear? I wouldn’t go near you
its july 1st because its after midnight geniuses!
HAHAHAHa A/C and Cup Holds, how bout a ipod holder and heated seats
FM Radio also
I actually think it’s a cool invention, no pun intended, and hope it sells well, especially in hot climates. Immediately I thought of the Middle East, but there are other hot and humid regions around the world that could benefit from this. I hope it becomes more readily available and affordable to the average person.
Stop hating people, this is a great effort. Bravo!
The beds would be great for us women when we reach menapause, hell I could use one now, gimme gimme gimme
Some people are open towards things, and no matter how silly they may appear at first hand, and some people has turned into negative-mode, no matter how good an invention it may be…
To me everything which is not “bad” or “evil” towards the human race is “positive”, and then the rest is up to the inventors/producers aswell as to the consumers.
Enjoy life, and remember to smile once in a while…
:-) Have a good day everybody !!

I can see where these clothes would be useful. Enough with the racism.
I think this is a great invention, it just would look rather stupid walking down the street with fans running on your clothes. If they could somehow find a way to hide the fans it would be great.
whoever said that this was a stupid idea must work in an air conditioned environment. that or doesn’t work at all. this is a great invention for those of us who work outdoors. i wish they would ship to the states, even though i don’t understand how exactly the clothes work. wouldn’t it just be pulling warm air through the clothes? i don’t see where the cooling feature is.
Hey, why not be creative and different with your clothing? It’s effective and could even save a stroke or two. If you don’t agree with it, don’t buy it, simple as said.
Hooray for censorship. Why have a comments section if you pick and choose which comments you want? Apparently you don’t want people to know that air conditioned clothes are nothing new.
wow, everybody was contributing to a mature argument until some dumbshit named bendover attempted to make a funny. maybe it’s best to only allow people of a certain age to make comments because 13 year olds like bendover evidently can’t handle the responsibility. bravo.
I thought of air conditioned clothes at work awhile back when the hot days started! I’m glad someone of equal intelligence went through with their similar idea and it’s cool to see it. As for the fan bed that’d be fun to try too since my apartment can get rather toasty when the AC is off. Congrats to you guys and good luck inventing in the future.
:-)
I dont want sweaty air spewing from the guy next to me in line.
Hmm but what happens if the shirt gets wet – obviously I don’t know alot about electricity – but usually in my world:
Liquid + Electricity = pain
Hehe. Great comment on this Julie (from July 1:st).
Hope you see the irony of though, else I
m afraid you might just be one your self. :)
Not sure if it’s a GREAT invention. It isn’t a bad one though. I hate hot weather and anything that help me stay cool will get my thumbs up. If it’s not too expensive, even better.
Those who are making fun of the products will certainly be surprised to hear those low-tech were created by a former Sony engineer who had been creating its TVs.
And they are already selling like hotcakes and struggling to keep up with demand.
yaw gerçektende klimalı yatak mı olur. Helal olsun bu capanlara…
Hot seasons in Japan are crazy. As a Texan, I can say I wouldn’t mind owning these clothes. :D and an air-conditioned bed is far from “useless”. Wow!
Katie, you’re an idiot because you don’t understand timezones.
in response to James (July 4, 2007):
I believe there would be NO RISK of injury if the clothing were to get wet with you in it. The air-conditioning components would behave much like a celleular telephones components, in that they would be rendered useless. The water would NOT act as a harmful conductor to the current the clothings rechargeable battery (almost certainly Lithium-Ion) would carry.
I was in HK last year and it was H-O-T and 100% humidity, so the aircon clothes would have come in handy. Don’t racecar drivers use a similar thing but with fluid filled mesh?
Definitely buying some next trip to Asia.
Beyond useless they should put there efforts towards something that might actually help someone haha
I think this season is too hot and might me Tank Top is helpful
so how are you supposed to wash the clothes when theres a fan attached to it?
i dont think theres anything useless about it
Looks very interesting. I live in Honolulu, Hawaii and could use one of these when it gets hot. Anybody tried these out before and can give a good review?
did you all even watch the youtube video on the airconditioned clothing? it dosent just have a fan in a peice of plain clothing. the cloth is atomically bonded with titanium thru a process called sputtering. they use titanium in cold water wetsuits and it acts as a shewild i mean sheild that refects harmful radiation like the bad kind fron the star we call sun and cell phones as well as the death cult government called rothchilds gosbank usa central bank weapons of war called haarp while at the same time reflecting your bodies own healing radiation back. check out the titanium coated blankets the russian space program released into the public domain for healing sick peop[le easily and cheaply along with scenar teqnology. look on ebay for Therapeutic Multilayer Blanket TMB-01 (titanium coated) like the air conditioned clothes and the word scenar and read about it.
Is this ture?
is air-conditioned underwear available?
is air-conditioned bra available?
