Passing by mall deluxe Omotesando Hills, I was drawn in from the street by a window display for Officina Slowear.
Wow there is a lot going on in that concept, I thought. What might a shop of that name be selling?
The answer is a rather disappointing ¥50,000 Italian sweaters and classic/uninspiring (depending on your point of view) slacks and trench coats to match them. Comfortable stuff that you could wear to the office I guess.
However, the display designs are kind of cute. Check out these low-tech office supplies used to display the merchandise.
The shop itself is a bright, airy, bling-free space, which is rare in Omotesando Hills.
This slowlife concept and any advertisement that makes use of the idea of relaxing, are very trendy in Tokyo these days, despite the seemingly impossible nature of taking it easy in our delightfully/despairingly maddening city.
On that note, Officina Slowlife is only a temporary shop (buy now before its too late, the shop closes on December 9th), which kind of stresses me out.
