There’s a pair of escaped (released?) parrots that have been hanging out in the cherry trees at the office. Being one train stop from Shinjuku, we think that’s pretty cool. Not much of a “trend”, other than that the parrots keep coming back! Yes, the CScout Japan office is on top of a Japanese shrine.
There’s your proof Kristen. Now bring AOTS back over here and we can play with the parrots together.

I spotted some parakeets in my neighborhood a while back and posted a photo to Flickr. I was then invited to share the location data with a group called “City Parrots.” Maybe they’d be interested in your sighting too . . .
You have made me so happy. Do they yell and scream? I love it when the wild parrots of LA scream from the palm trees. My friend tells a story about a family that her parents took in, when they left their country they had to release their bird into the wild, where it flew around screaming “ALEX!! ALEX!!!” I’m waiting for a “wild” bird to fly by and say something!
They scream a bit, which is why we spotted them to begin with. The cherry blossoms are starting to bloom now, so I’m hoping to get some shots of them cavorting in the pink branches.
