Pro Voice karaoke pills to make you less lousy

They won’t turn you into Hirai Ken, or any kind of pop star for that matter, but can the Pro Voice tablets make you at least tolerable?

Distributed by electronics and geek-stuff giant Laox, the Pro Voice are claimed to make you a better singer, so we picked these up in Akihabara at Asobit City, with dreams of karaoke stardom in our eyes. Apparently, as the tablets contain magnesium and malic acid, the effect is that it numbs your throat a bit and helps you have a clearer voice.

I chewed a few of the Pro Voices myself, but never got around to renting a karaoke room to give a proper review. The biggest plus? They taste EXACTLY like Flintstones Vitamins.

Of course, in the end, only one thing can truly increase your skill at karaoke. A packet of five tablets costs ¥280, or about $2.50.
