This weekend, the CScout Japan crew headed out to the Mecca of Anime, the Tokyo International Anime Fair, in Odaiba. Among the throngs of people, otaku, kids, freebies, and beautiful models was a selection of anime that would make your head spin. In particular, there was a really cool exhibit on the history of Robo Anime, from Atom to Gundam. Throughout its history, anime (and manga) have both influenced and been influenced by real robotics. It’s no coincidence that many robots are designed to fulfill our anime dreams.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the TIAF without a selection of pictures of cute girls, anime stuff, and otaku (and one kigurumi cosplay “girl”) after the jump:

We played janken with this girl for a pack of cards. Losing was fun anyway.

They had a nice anime tutorial for the kids to get them drawing.

That’s a LOT of figurines…

The otaku go at it, Magic the Gathering style…

I’m pretty sure this is kigurumi…if that is, indeed, a mask.
